Terrestris, LLC to support US Army War College Environmental Security Research & Wargame Development in the US Marshall Islands.

Terrestris to support Environmental and Climate resiliency

September 24, 2023

Carlisle Barracks, Carlisle, Pennsylvania, September 22, 2023 – Terrestris has been awarded its Fourth Prime contract at the U.S. Army War College, its second contract in support of the Department of Strategic Wargaming at the Center for Strategic Leadership (CSL). Terrestris will be providing environmental policy and wargame development subject matter expertise to the CSL.

Terrestris will provide policy, research, and analysis of environmental and climate resilience issues that could impact the local indigenous population and affect the long-term sustainability of U.S. Military installations in the Marshall Islands. Results from the in-depth research will be utilized to build a wargame to further elucidate and train future leaders on these potential issues, possible solutions, and their implications in INDOPACOM.

Terrestris Environmental Research Fellows will deploy to the INDOPACOM region to support this important mission by conducting detailed research into the future human security impact on the indigenous base workers who comprise the primary workforce for various military installations in the Marshall Islands, and the likelihood that these critically needed workers will remain in the Marshall Islands as it becomes submerged under rising ocean levels. These workers are expected to experience a number of negative human security issues that could have second and third-order effects on the US Army civilian workforce over the next 20 years as sea levels rise on Kwajalein and the neighboring island of Ebeye, home to most of these base workers. This research serves as an educational center and high technology laboratory focused on the decision-making process at the strategic, interagency, and operational levels, and the strategic use of land power in joint and combined operations. Both objectives are examined and studied by CSL and its customers through the use of wargames, exercises, related events, and educational instruction.

Terrestris aims to consistently provide reliable support, top talent, and quality deliverables to the U.S. Government and has earned a reputation as an excellent provider of human capital, training & development, and technology services.
