Terrestris Awarded 5-year Prime Single Award BPA with the Department of Commerce (DOC) to Establish and Manage a Large-Scale Internship Recruitment and Programmatic Support Service
Terrestris is proud to announce its recent award to implement and manage an experiential program providing underserved and under-resourced college students with hands-on opportunities to explore careers within the Department of Commerce across fields such as Office Administration, Financial Management, Information Technology, Human Resources, Acquisition, Legislative Affairs, and Program and Project Management.
Terrestris will create a highly structured Human Resources internship program that provides students with valuable work experience, an expanded professional network, and a deeper understanding of the importance and impact of public service, helping college and graduate students apply their educational training to both short- and long-term Federal opportunities while emphasizing diversity, equity, and inclusion in recruitment; the Terrestris recruiting and program management team will collaborate with the Office of the Secretary and the Department of Commerce’s (DOC’s) 13 bureaus to bolster U.S. economic competitiveness, strengthen domestic industry, and spur job growth nationwide by engaging at the community level to recruit talent from the DC Metropolitan area and other underrepresented, underserved, and under-resourced areas.
We will work closely with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to attract talent to the DOC, provide meaningful work experiences, mentor interns through various DOC programs, and support students in achieving long-term post-college success. With the aim of increasing student interest in federal careers and fostering the next generation of government professionals, the program’s goal is to place students with critically needed skills into internships and develop a diverse pool of talent for the government.
Terrestris will provide evaluation and programmatic support to this internship program to increase student interest in federal careers with the Department of Commerce, supporting future recruitment and the hiring of the next generation of government professionals. Terrestris was selected as the top firm, outperforming nine other offerors in a highly competitive, multi-phase process, to lead this program. Terrestris is proud to contribute to emphasizing diversity, equity, and inclusion in our recruitment efforts.
Maria DeMicoli, Business Operations Manager of Terrestris, stated: “Our team is honored to manage and lead this important initiative, working closely with the Department of Commerce to expand leadership and career opportunities.
