Terrestris Awarded Contract for MARFORRES Material Readiness Advisor, Corrosion Prevention and Control
Dumfries, VA July 07, 2024 –
Terrestris is proud to announce its recent award for providing highly technical Corrosion Prevention and Control (CPAC) and Logistics Support Services to the Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES). Terrestris SMEs will lead the most extensive Corrosion Prevention and Control (CPAC) program for the Marine Corps Forces Reserves. Our material readiness advisors will provide unparalleled expertise in CPAC, delivering comprehensive oversight and support.
Out of a highly competitive field with over nine offers received, Terrestris emerged as the awardee for this contract. The selection was based on a true best-value tradeoff evaluation, encompassing highly complex logistics, CPAC operations, and worldwide expeditionary technical approaches. Other crucial factors in the selection included relevant past performance, contract value, and highly technical key personnel. Terrestris proved to be the best value for the government, highlighting their exceptional capabilities and unwavering commitment to excellence.
Terrestris’ Material SMEs will provide comprehensive analysis of MARFORRES materiel readiness, including reviewing and auditing records, recommending necessary maintenance actions, and teaching Corrosion Control Basics to Reservist staff and Selected Marine Corps Reserve (SMCR) Marines. Our staff possess in-depth technical knowledge of Headquarters Marine Corps Supply and Maintenance Orders and directives, as well as actively contributing to efforts aimed at improving overall readiness across the MARFORRES landscape. Terrestris Material Advisors are experts in Marine Corps logistics planning and execution, supporting operations through their proficiency in supply, maintenance, and distribution policies and business processes.
Terrestris Material Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) directly support CPAC audits, controls, and reviews for the 4th Marine Division (4th MARDIV), the 4th Marine Air Wing (4th MAW), the 4th Marine Logistics Group (4th MLG), Force Headquarters Group (FHG), and Marine Forces North (MARFORNORTH). Our SMEs will support 152 sites across 47 states and Puerto Rico, covering supply and maintenance functions for the entire Marine Corps, with a specific focus on the unique nature of MARFORRES. They possess a thorough knowledge of tactical logistics, coordinating and facilitating actions between multiple units, managing hands-on supply and maintenance, and implementing best practices to enhance processes and performance. Utilizing advanced technologies such as MAXIMO and Automatic Identification Technology, our SMEs ensure efficient and effective logistics support.
Terrestris Material Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will focus particularly on equipment maintenance, including the application of coatings and corrosion preventative compounds (CPCs), which are used by maintenance personnel, Marines, or original equipment manufacturers (OEM) across the USMC to extend equipment lifespan. These applications occur in a variety of facilities, from simple open-air spaces to advanced coating operations worldwide. Due to varying facility capabilities and location-specific requirements, there is a constant demand for new, location-appropriate products. The CPAC program or end users identify the need for a coating or CPC before initiating testing, which is a time-consuming and resource-intensive process.
“As a leading logistics systems integrator, we are truly humbled that MARFORRES has chosen Terrestris for this mission-critical support for the Marine Corps,” said Alex Horti, CEO of Terrestris. “In addition to helping our client modernize logistics and CPAC operations, we will ensure that the Marines who provide supply support can accurately and efficiently pick, pack, and ship critical items to Marines in need, including those deployed in theater. Our goal is to establish an effective CPAC program to extend the useful life of all Marine Corps tactical ground and ground support equipment, mitigating the impact of corrosion on USMC assets through a comprehensive CPAD program.”
“Terrestris is very excited to start supporting MARFORRES with our second contract outside of MARFORCYBER HR, fostering a long-term partnership with the Marine Corps and offering a fully managed logistics support service that delivers dynamic and scalable solutions,” said Alyssa Everett, Growth Manager of Terrestris. “This modern CPAC and logistics service is designed to deliver the performance, flexibility, and rapid deployment capability needed by reserve Marine forces—supporting operational readiness and enabling MARFORRES to easily leverage surge capacity for specific mission needs. This complex solution is a critical piece to achieving a decision advantage in modern logistics operations, supporting the current warfare environment.”
